Villa Rosa drop new track, “Rocketships”!
Villa Rosa, the collaboration project between Twin Cities MCs Muja Messiah and Maria Isa, is packed with pretty much everything fans could want from the duo. Blue Diamond Island, their debut from last year, mixes soul, hip-hop, and R&B seamlessly under an umbrella of positive energy and the underlying political awareness that has come to be expected from both.
Flourished by Maria Isa’s back-and-forth of sing-song vocals and cutty Latino flow, and Muja Messiah’s always smart lyrical prowess and smooth delivery, Isa and Messiah complement one other’s streamline. And on the faster tracks, when Isa is code-switching between Spanish and English, and Muja’s voice slides in like butter on bread, Villa Rosa seems capable of almost anything.
